Payment, Shipping & Returns


Shipping Charges

We're now hooked into Canada Post's electronic shipping database and can provide actual, real-time shipping costs to you as you place your order. There are no handling or materials fees added in - just the pure cost of shipping to you, clear and simple. Doing this allows us to keep our stock prices as low as possible.

We provide Free Shipping (Expedited Parcel) for orders over $200 to all destinations in Canada. (Unfortunately, due to rising fuel surcharges and exchange rate costs, we're no longer able to offer free shipping to the continental USA.)

Currencies

The default currency that we use is the Canadian dollar.
 

Methods of Payment

We accept the following methods of payment:

  • Interac e-Transfer: Canadian customers with participating banks are welcome to use Interac On-Line. Please see their site for more information: https://www.interac.ca/en/interac-etransfer/etransfer-detail 
  • Personal Check or Money Order: When you pay by check, your order will be shipped after the check clears our bank. US and International customers can avoid long delays by sending certified checks or International postal money orders.
  • Credit and Debit Cards, eChecks: We take credit and debit card payments through Paypal. You do not need to have a Paypal account to use your credit card. This is due to the high fees charged by banks and credit card companies to open a merchant gateway account - we'd rather use Paypal and pass the savings on to you.
  • Canadian Tire Money: Yes, we really do accept it. If it's a large amount, you will want to insure and track your packet through the Post Office to guard against loss. When you go through the checkout procedure for your order, indicate that you will be paying by Check or Money Order. 

We are based in Ontario, so Canadian residents will be charged GST or HST depending on what your province charges; Ontario residents will be charged HST.
 

Shipping

Here at ACME Fibres, we use Canada Post as our main shipping carrier; most orders will be sent out via ExpressPost, Tracked Packet, or Small Packet Air, depending on the size and weight. Canada Post estimates that packages sent by these methods will take between 5 and 10 business days within Canada; American and International orders might take a few days longer. (These estimates are actually quite conservative - your packet is very likely to arrive sooner.)

Unless otherwise notified, you can expect your order to be packed up and sent out to you within 2 business days of receipt of payment. You will receive an email notification when your package goes out. Orders sent to the United States or other International destinations will be accompanied by the appropriate customs paperwork, including a full and accurate valuation of the contents. Payment of any and all applicable duties and taxes levied by your country are the sole responsibility of the purchaser.

If you have a particular carrier that you'd like us to use instead of Canada Post, please feel free contact us and ask if it's possible - we do have FedEx, UPS and Purolator offices nearby, and we'd be happy use your preferred carrier if you have an account with them. Let us know before you place your order so that we can work any necessary magic with the shipping calculator in the software.

 All orders are fully insured against damage and loss in transit; please let us know immediately if there are any problems so that we can resolve them for you as soon as possible.

 

Returns

Here at ACME Fibres, any and all products you buy from us are RETURNABLE WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Yes, you heard that right - everything is returnable, as long as it's in the same condition as when we sent it to you. Bought way more skeins of yarn than you actually needed? No problem, we'll take them back. Is the colour just not quite what you wanted? That's okay, you can send it back and trade it for something different, or just return it and get your money back. You're going to be putting a lot of time and work into your creation, and there's no reason why it shouldn't be exactly what you want it to be. You are in charge, after all. Sometimes online shopping can lead to surprises, and we want them to be nice ones - if they're not, let us know how we can make it right for you. All you have to do is contact us and let us know how you want your order to be fixed, and we'll do it. That's all - no tricks, no conditions, no hoops to jump through. Your total satisfaction is our #1 goal; we want ACME Fibres to be a place where you can shop fearlessly.
